"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." EFT stands for "Emotional Freedom Techniques". It was put together by Gary Craig. It is a method to heal emotional pain by releasing blocked energy in the meridians in the body. This is done by tapping on the same points that are used in acupuncture; while staying emotionally and mentally tuned in to the specific problem. In many cases a situation called "psychological reversal" has to be resolved first. This is the situation that arises when a part of the person is holding on to the problem. For example, a person wants to give up smoking or lose weight or get over their depression; but a part of them is still hanging on to these negative things. Pyschological reversal is overcome through EFT by means of a gentle massage of one of the places where lymph nodes are; while making affirmations and accessing an inner dialogue about the problem. After that, the acupuncture points are tapped. Sometimes muscle testing is used in EFT in order to assess how much progess is being made and what else needs to be done. It has long been known that behind many physical problems are repressed emotional issues. Not only is this the case with long-term degenerative illnesses such as cancer; but even with backache, headaches, stomach aches and many other kinds of aches and pains. EFT can help a person to overcome physical pains as well as emotional issues. I've used EFT to help people overcome: painful memories; guilt problems; concentration problems; damage done to the nervous system by psychiatric drugs; depression; fear; helplessness; trauma of death of a loved one; fear of abandonment; cramp; trauma associated with sexual abuse; anxiety; trauma associated with early childhood experiences; apprehensions about anticipated events...
